The American Conservative Union (ACU) today announced its first ACU Ratings of the Texas Legislature, honoring the Lone Star State’s true conservatives. The ACU “Defender of Liberty” award goes to those members of the Texas Legislature who scored 100 percent on the ACU Texas 2013 State Legislative Ratings. In the House, recipient of the award is Harvey Hilderbran.

Republican Harvey Hilderbran was the first candidate in the state comptroller’s race to begin airing television ads on Monday, purchasing time on cable stations in San Antonio and West Texas, his campaign said.
