Hilderbran Announces Campaign Field Staff

Appoints Amanda Miller Political Director

SAN ANTONIO – Texas Comptroller candidate and House Ways and Means chairman Harvey Hilderbran (R-Kerrville) today announced his political director and field staff for the 2014 campaign, a team which already includes a Campaign Manager, Finance Director, Finance Coordinator / Scheduler and Director of Operations / Travel Aide.

“I am so pleased that we have recruited and hired so many impressive, motivated, smart, hard working, conservative field staffers who share my goals for growing the Texas economy and improving the Comptroller’s office,” said Hilderbran.

Hilderbran has appointed Amanda Miller as Political Director.  Miller, the daughter of State Rep. Doug Miller (R-New Braunfels), was most recently National Field Director for the College Republican National Committee.  She also previously served as Campaign Manager for State Rep. Greg Bonnen (R-Friendswood) from 2011-2012, worked in government affairs during the 2013 legislative session and has worked on campaigns in Fort Worth and Galveston.  She is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

The following new hires are the field staff for the campaign:

Dallas Field Representative – Josh Peltier

Josh Peltier was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas.  He attended Texas Tech University graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2007.  While at Tech, Josh interned for Congressman Randy Neugebauer’s (R-TX) office in Lubbock.  Josh has previous campaign experience working for Travis Washington Jr. for Congress and Kevin Curley for Dallas City Council.

Houston Field Representative – Andrew Nosaville

Andrew is a fourth generation Houstonian and graduate of LSU.  After college, he lived in Austin where he worked for two start-ups and coached a West Austin Youth Association basketball team.  Andrew worked the 83rd Legislative Session for The Texas Lobby Group prior to his move back home to Houston to join the campaign.

San Antonio Field Representative – Jeff Bazan

Jeff Bazan is a graduate of the University of Texas – San Antonio. Jeff has over five years of campaign and political experience in the San Antonio area, including serving former U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and as chief of staff for San Antonio City Councilwoman Elisha Chan.  He and his wife reside in San Antonio with their first child.

North Texas Field Representative – Shelbie Bradley

Shelbie Bradley graduated with honors from Tarleton State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.  At Tarleton State she successfully started the College Republican chapter, studied abroad in Scotland and Ireland, as well as interned in Washington D.C. with Congressman John Carter (R-TX). While in college, she worked at Huffman & Van Slyke law firm.

Central Texas Field Representative – John Allen Davidson

John Allen Davidson, from Clyde, Texas, is a recent graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a degree in business administration and an emphasis in marketing. During his time at UMHB he was a part of Student Foundation and worked in the Alumni Relations office where he interacted with alumni, donors, faculty and staff on a daily basis.

Austin Field Representative – Corbett Austin

Corbett Austin graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown May of 2013 with a degree in Political Science. While there, he served as Student Body President and held numerous leadership positions in student government and the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Originally from San Antonio, Corbett is currently living in Austin and also working part-time at the Texas Capitol.

South Texas Field Representative – David Polin

David Polin is founder and Vice-President of Garza & Polin Strategies, LLC. Mr. Polin has extensive political campaign experience which he gained after practicing real estate for 3 years in South Texas.  He is involved in the oil and gas business of Deep South Texas, and enjoys spending time with his Tina, his wife, and young son David III.

South Texas Field Representative – Eric Garza

Eric Garza is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in political science. He is a political consultant based in South Texas and has worked on both local and national campaigns and currently is Vice Chairman of the Texas Federation of Hispanic Republicans. He is active in his church and serves on various boards in his community including Chairman of the Board of Leadership Brownsville, Inc.

East Texas Field Representative – Bryan Slaton

Bryan lives in Royse City, TX.  He has 10 years of experience in the ministry as youth/family pastor, and is currently in the process of obtaining his CPA.  In the past he has worked for NFIB and the Tom Pauken for Governor campaign, as well as volunteering for the Cindy Burkett Campaign.  He is in the Hall of Honor for his volunteer work with The Miss Texas Organization and has been a proxy to the SREC annual meeting.

West Texas Field Representative – Anthony Capwell

Anthony Capwell was born and raised in Amarillo, TX.  He left Amarillo to serve his Country in the U.S. Army, where he was deployed to fight in Iraq.  He returned to West Texas and received his Graduate and Undergraduate education at Texas Tech University. Anthony has earned his campaigning experience from the Murphy/Nassica campaign academy along with managing Judicial and Congressional campaigns.
